"Staying at Upward Bound has been very fun. My classes are very fun and I've learned a lot of stuff. The activities have been fun, and the trip to the lake was fun. Some of us played volleyball, some of us went in the water, and at the end of the day we had a bonfire at the lake and did a really fun activity. The food is really amazing too. We get served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and every meal they have amazing food. The RA's are also really exiting and funny. I have enjoyed every bit of Upward Bound." - Nicholas McCracken, Shoals
"I really like the program. I like the fact that we can make money on campus. All the classes were educational. I have really liked all the RA's. They are all very kind :) And I also really think that all the students are great; they all treat each other with respect. Overall, I really think the program is great and you're doing a really good job with all your hard work." - Haley Brackney, Pike Central
"The program is really great. The RA's are really nice. I like the fact that we get to have a look into college life." - Hope Fultz, Shoals
"The Upward Bound program has been awesome! The teachers are fun, the staff is nice, and everyone here is really cool. The classes and activities we do are also pretty interesting! I'm also really looking forward to the trips we will be taking. Us being able to have jobs is also really cool." - Alexis Rush, Shoals
"Last year this was a new experience to me, and I didn't have any idea what to expect. I honestly wasn't sure whether I would like it or not. Then I tried it, and I am so happy with my decision. Many things that I have achieved are owed to this program. I wouldn't have been able to buy my car, I probably wouldn't have passed my freshman year without it. I have a bright future because of this program. I praise God that Ms. Petty thought of me for this program, because I struggled in 8th grade. In December of my 8th grade year the school administration told me that I would not pass, but I worked and passed. Thanks to the efforts of this program in 9th grade I have not been left to play catch up, instead I have succeeded and I'm moving forward to my sophomore year. I owe that to this program. Thanks for all that you do." - Ethan Hill, Pike Central
